Our Process
No matter what home remodeling job you may be considering, it is vitally important to find the right contractor or handyman for the job. There are a number of steps you can take to ensure that you are hiring the right contractor for the job. In this section, as a service to you, we list these steps and tell you how we meet the criteria for the work.
Qualifications
Your contractor should be properly licensed and insured. House calls maintenance is a fully licensed and insured contractor in many phases of home remodeling and home maintenance. In those areas where we are not, we are connected to a variety of contractors with good reputations and the right referrals that we can refer to you, should the need arise.
Reputation
Your contractor should come with a good reputation, with many testimonials and satisfied customers that can vouch for their service. House Calls Maintenance has been in business since 1994 and is a member of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. We have many satisfied customers, which you can see for yourself on our Testimonials page, or by calling us and asking us for references.
Communication
Your contractor should be able to explain to you the various options available, outline your options based on your budget, and describe to you the work to be done until you fully understand the scope of the project. Our professionals excel at all of these areas as one of the featured parts of our service.
Estimates
Before you have any work done, an estimate should be provided in writing, carefully spelling out the details of the labor to be performed, the materials to be used, and the estimated time to complete the project. Estimates can vary greatly from contractor to contractor, depending on the materials to be used and the expertise of the contractor. Our professionals will carefully go over each part of the estimate, explaining how we arrived at our figures and what you will get for the proposed price. Of course, the estimate is always free.
Fair pricing
Your contractor will understandably need a down payment on the total for purchasing materials and supplies related to your project. However, this amount should never exceed 1/3 of the total price. In addition, lowball contractors often attempt to make their profits by using cheap materials and/or unqualified labor. At House Calls Maintenance, we never skimp on quality and only provide competent and professional labor.
Customer approval
Your contractor should obtain your final approval before receiving the final payment. At House Calls Maintenance, we expect the customer to thoroughly review all of our work prior to accepting final payment.
Our guarantee is that you will be 100% satisfied with all of our work prior to final payment. If you are ever dissatisfied with any aspect of our work, we will either correct the work to your satisfaction or make any adjustment to the final price until you are satisfied.
